RE: Perhaps 1st documented 2009 Ram 1500 crash?

There is some not right about the pictures shown in the link, did anyone else think it is odd that they are showing a hub with just four studs, a brake shoe, and a bearing cap I do, not saying that he did not wreck/crash the truck but the damage shown is on the flaky side. JMHO
I was thinking the same thing, but not about the pictures. I was thinking wow a 2009 model truck with brake shoe's and 4 studs. Maybe time to upgrade to disk at least.
Have any of you ever seen a rear disk setup? The brake shoes is the parking brake that is inside the rotor.

You need to look again thats not studs and thats not a bearing cap. Thats the four nuts that hold the axle bearing and what you think is the bearing cap is the part of the axle where the studs were.

RE: Who else has learned the hard way?

I guess since i started towing with a F450 with a 460 gas motor (thing had no balls) pulling a 28' goose neck loaded at about 27000#. I don't get all the white knuckle stuff everyone else gets. My Dodge 1500 pulls my 5th wheel just fine never had any worries pulling it.

RE: 2009 Ram 1500 RT, 0-60 5.7 seconds!

Why would an RVer care about 0-60 times? I sure don't.
Well i would think anyone who drives would care. When you pull out in traffic i sure like to know how fast i can get up to speed.

RE: Air bags on truck

NC Hauler is sligthly wrong. Airbags do take the weight off the suspension and distributes it elsewhere on the axles.
countyrose, the tow vehicle brakes have nothing to do with this. All trailers over 1000lbs are required to have there own brakes. This is what stops the trailers, not the TV brakes.
All the airbags do is level out the rear of the truck when extra weight is added to the truck bed. Nothing else.
Mav
I don't know where you get your information about brakes but I have to point out the difference in weight of a 1 ton P/U vs. a 3/4 ton is minimal. However the size of the brakes is much different, so if you are relying on the trailer brakes why the larger brakes on the 1 ton??
Lets see to stop the truck (only) when its loaded to the gills maybe.

RE: Help! Plugging in trailer to house electricity

Just pull the cover off the breaker box and see. If the breaker has 1 wire its 115 volt. If it has 2 wires then its 220 volt.

RE: Tucson Dealer won't honor E-Bay Auction- Advice

They shouldn't of sent all those excuses but either way I couldn't take a 15,0000 dollar advantage of someone's mistake like that. It was obvious from the start that someone goofed on the ebay ad. And if you take advantage of something like that, then your no more honest than the person sending the killer bee emails.
Making someone loose 15K so I can get something for nothing....Personally , I couldn't look at myself in the mirror if I did that.
And you dont know how much Pat bid on it do you? He could have bid $25,000 on it but it didnt go that high. You cant tell me that it was a type o or that they didnt know that they didnt put a resevre on it. Thats BULL. They were hopeing it would go higher then it did. Good for Pat for getting it for $15,000.

RE: FYI IT doesnt make noise when your landing Gear bends

just the reason I use the old fashioned manual kind. I can be sure they are secured in place. I took the spring loaded ones off.
My spring loaded ones have failed too ... Where did you get the manual ones? Can you describe what they look like or take a picture???
Thanks,
Dennis

RE: Help! I think I'm OK with this set up?

My little 5th wheel pulls fine behind my as some of yall say gutless 4.7. I have no problem hauling at 70MPH on the interstates or getting up to speed. My Aljo has a GVWR 6900# and it weighs 6000# as we camp. And my Dodge is a 2002 1500 4.7L 3.92 Quad with 20" wheels.

RE: Water Heater wont stay lit

Dont see any control board. The heater is a Suburban 6 gal water heater. Yes the pilot is above the thermocouple when it heats up and cuts off you hear a big click and everything goes out. You can light the pilot and as long as you hold it down it stays lit till you let off the valve then the pilot fades away. Let it sit for about 10 min and you can relight it. Like it cools down or something.

Water Heater wont stay lit

The water heater in my 1998 Aljo wont stay lit. You can go out and light it and it will fire up. But once it reaches temp and shuts off the pilot goes out. If i try and relight the pilot lights but as soon as i let up on the pilot button it fades out. If i let it sit for about ten min it will relight and stay lit till the next time the burner fires and then shuts off. I changed the thermocouple but that didn't help. Any ideas whats causing this?

RE: 2011 Ramtitan or Titanram or???

Whats all this about tailgate locks? What good is it if you have no top on it. Just to keep someone from stealing it. If someone wants my tailgate let them take it my insurance well just get me another. No different then if someone steals your radio. I dont buy a truck just because it has a lock on the tailgate. And my 2002 Dodge has 167000 and no problems even with no tailgate lock.

RE: Big oil, what can we the people do about it???????

Ride a bike to work like I did for over 20 straight years and Exxon would be a much smaller company quick but Americans will never get off their fat butts and do that. I see Hummer H2's with only one person in them everyday on the roads and the oil companies love them.
I would love to but i work 40 miles from my house. This 44 year old just cant ride that far and work 12 hours and ride home.:E
